Janna is the founder of The English Wine Academy.
Not coming from a wine background, she trained at WSET in London after a career in media and technology, so she understands how difficult it can be to navigate the world of wine.
Writing her diploma dissertation on Wine Production in a Changing Climate fired her fascination with the impact of global warming on wine regions and wine styles.
A natural teacher, she launched The English Wine Academy to introduce wine lovers to the new wine regions and wine styles of the world.
Based in Suffolk, Janna is a wine writer, wine judge, and presenter on YouTube @theenglishwineacademy and @how2enjoywine.
Specialities include food & wine pairing, sustainability, English wines, and wine tourism.
She is working with Wine GB, the organisation for British vineyard owners, on developing wine tourism across the UK and is a committee member for her region, Wine GB East, covering vineyards across East Anglia.
She is a wine judge for the international wine awards, Glass of Bubbly and for Wine GB’s eastern regional awards.
She is the holder of the Guy Howard Award 2023, for her work promoting English wine in East Anglia.
Janna is also the founder of our sister site, How2EnjoyWine, check it out here.., making it easier to select the best wines for the food and occasion.
